Reducing Access is Key
Regarding alcohol, CASA’s message is clear: Keep it out of the hands of our kids. The majority of teens have their first experiences with alcohol in the home without their parents’ permission. The solution, don’t make it readily available and you may be able to increase YOUR child’s age of first use. The same holds true for prescription drugs kept in the home. Parents need to be aware that they could be the “unwitting suppliers” of prescription medications being used in unintended ways, especially by young people. Medication Lock Boxes are on sale at most NS-CASA events. If interested, please email [email protected] and we will bring one to you! |
